Star Wars Group 8 years, 4 months ago You all may want to consider discussing the Hero’s Journey (call to adventure, threshold crossing, etc) from Hero With A Thousand Faces (Joseph Campbell) in Star Wars philosophy. Lucas claims to have been inspired by Campbell in writing the Star Wars saga. There are interviews with Lucas and Campbell on YouTube.

Campbell’s Hero’s Journey is also a great launch point for discussion about other epic myths like The Odyssey, The Illiad, King Arthur Legends, all the way up to modern story telling: Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, every Disney movie ever.
